Truly Progressive: Two Birds Trail Blazer Review
Two Birds have been blazing their own trail for quite some time now and a Lager brewed by them is truly progressive step into taking on the giants.
The Good: The crispness and sharp flavours you get from drinking this beer is exactly what you have come to expect from a good lager. It does not feel heavy at all and when poured is literally liquid gold. I mean it is the sort of beer you could easily drink to quench the thirst from a full on workout, marathon, sporting game or just a long hard day. How do I know this? Well I smashed a good leg workout and then decided to do a review of this beer and damn it felt good drinking it!
The Bad: This doesn't feel like the regular Two Birds beer, I mean if you follow Two Birds you know that they are famous for their Taco Beer (my absolute all time favourite beer hands down no argument), their Sunset is a gorgeous beer to drink year round and their Golden is so good it is my go to during any summer barbecue. My only criticism is that Trail Blazer checks all my boxes for a good lager, but doesn't evoke the same passion it does their other beers, which if I am totally honest I would reach for before I went for this one again.
Enjoyment: If I can be totally transparent and honest with you all, I am a MASSIVE fan of Two Birds and I came into this review knowing full well that I have to be as unbiased as I possibly could. With that being said I did enjoy this Aussie Lager brewed by Two Birds, it has a sharp crisp taste that you usually find in a Heineken (I had this in Amsterdam in their brewery and the answer is yes I do enjoy the commercial beers) but doesn't have the weight and aftertaste that you get from a Carlton Draught. You could quite easily drink this casually (literally 1.1 standard drinks) over a meal and feel merry without getting absolutely wrecked. All in all it is a good beer that checks the boxes for a good lager, I would happily have another.
