Hawkers’ Rover Henty St Ale is going to go down smooth, and is quite a cheery little number. Perfect for the Friday knock off or pre game alike.
The Good: Straight up, the aroma on this ale is the stand out. They aren’t wrong when they say it’s bursting with tropical fruit freshness. Some bitterness but it’s not super forward. I think the idea of this brew is to appeal to the masses, and I think it achieves that pretty well.
The Bad: While not overly bitter, there is some slight harshness at the start. I did seem to warm to it though and thought it was quite ok. Other than that, nothing else to put here, it’s a pretty approachable beer.
Enjoyment: Easy drinking ale that wouldn’t be out of place on tap at most pubs. As I say above, it’s a very approachable brew that feels like it’s aimed as a general crowd pleaser more so than one for the beer nerds out there. Think of the general fruity ales out there and you get the idea, this is perfect if you’re taking your first steps away from the general lagers out there, and is quite pleasant to drink in all honesty. It won’t blow you away, but it’s a solid beer and I’d happily have this again.
